Ramsey County Jail

This was where I started a new approach to thinking and design, it was the beginning of my working method.


There was no sufficient data to design a prison. It was a new building typology. I started by interviewing everybody the prisoners, their families, arresting

officers, judges, attorneys of prisoners. We analyzed and projected our findings into the future.


The result is the prison in the heart of the city, the roof is a public park and connected to the court house with an underground tunnel and the prisoners have a normal living environment.
